Manufacturing Update November 15, 2018

We Blew Up the Store’s Server
When the store side went boom (custombilletstore.net) we were looking at a major disaster on our hands. Billet Technology aka billettechnology.net was stable throughout the day this is why you were able to pop over and see the People’s Sale info and then when you clicked into the store side you were getting timed out. The magic of coding two different domains.
This sale has been going on for years and we learn something new each year. We knew we would have heavy traffic into the site based on the analyticals we were gathering since the announcement of the sale. We never anticipated, nor could we have for seen, the massive volume that came in once the sale started.
Many folks pre-stage themselves building Wish Lists before the sale. As the initial wave of customers with 1900 saved wishlists (with many shopping carts open) hit, there was a second influx that came in around 1:10 and started to overload the servers.
This high volume of traffic caused the time out errors, which then lead to critical server errors, as in server went boom, overheated, and said bye bye. The social webs is a powerful thing and that second wave must of been the folks jumping in who were learning about it live.
After the initial internal panic set in, and the you know what moment passed, we got on the phone with our shopping cart provider and had a live chat open within moments of the call. Team BT has very experienced IT staff on hand here, and it was determined we needed to cool off the primary server, and move to the backup. We knew right then and there that would leave lots of customers unable to get in on the savings.
The Team decided to to take the sale out to midnight Eastern Time and have the code remain at 40% off for the entire time. This removed the time restraints from our customers, and allowed traffic to be spread out. People could go have lunch, go to work, and complete their orders later in the day… and complete them you did.
Holiday Deliveries
Today we batched and started to sort all orders received. All customers who requested a holiday delivery we are going to be working on those first. These will be the first orders out to colors and anyone who purchased satin machine finish those will be the first catch cans to be assembled and prepped for shipping and any under hood pieces will get engraved in satin first.
Coolant Tank Covers & Holiday Deliveries
We can tell you now if you ordered a coolant tank cover we will not make a holiday delivery. The material will be here for the next run in early December and we have approximately 700 units to manufacture now after the sale at first glance. Outside chance anyone who ordered one in satin it may make it, but there are people out in front of the sale day that will be in line first. Please be patient folks they will be coming and that coolant tank cover is a masterclass of machine work it’s absolutely stunning.
Call Backs & Emails
Today was also began all call backs for those of you that left a voicemail had simply wanted to order over the phone or had issues during the sale. First we want to thank those of you who actually read the articles and paid attention to the sale details on what to do if anything unexpected popped up. Everyone was very understanding and many asked if they could help out in any way.
This is why the team puts so much effort in passing along information to you guys and gals via these updates, or on the social webs: never underestimate the connection made with the people beyond the pretty items in the box.
This is why we renamed the sale The People’s Sale, because that is exactly what it is! All calls backs will be made before close of business tomorrow.
Team BT is in the process of replying to all of the emails that came in during the sale. Our goal is to have all emails answered by the close of business tomorrow, however due to the high volume of emails, some could be delayed until mid morning Monday, November 19th.
Custom Artwork
If you are getting a custom order Nick will be handling your requests. Many of you worked with him prior to the sale and he will be reaching to you shortly. We have MANY custom orders. Please be patient he will be getting with you and he is engaged with his clients on his social media pages both on instagram and facebook as well.

Keep an Eye on the Manufacturing Updates
With some of the post sale information out of the way, as always we ask you to keep tuned in to this section of our website where we will bring you all the latest and greatest of whats going on. Any parts we are running to replenish stock, any and all orders that head out for outside service such as powder coating or anodizing.
Catch Cans
Will definitely be updating you on catch can assemblies that are ongoing and ETA’s to ship. We have plenty of cans here and have all sale orders and then some covered but obviously these will need to go to colors and any satin cans ordered please allow 2-4 weeks to box and ship. Need your satin can shipped immediately? Call (561.582.6171) or email us so we can make that happen for you.
Red Anodize is Back
Today we had the red anodize come back in from October 22nd and we are assembling those cans and routing parts into the shop for final processes. Will get as many of these orders out prior to our Thanksgiving break next week. If you have an event or show you are attending over the long holiday weekend next week please reach out to us prior to close of business Monday so we can get your order buttoned up and shipped out to you.
BT Shirts
Finally the first wave of shirts will be shipping the week of November 26th. We sold the first 50 and those of you in that first offering will be receiving “Taco’s Unmarked Truck” scratch off game where one lucky grand prize winner will win $3,000 in BT bucks to spend in the store. Random scratch offs will be making their way into packages all through the holiday season as well.
New Update Next Week
