Manufacturing Update September 14, 2018

Good afternoon family and welcome to another edition of our Manufacturing Updates. We sincerely appreciate all the support and trust. Let’s dig right in to what’s happening at the facility.

New Color: Racing Red Metallic

First in case you missed the announcement, we have introduced a brand new color called Racing Red Metallic. Its an incredible powder coated finish and a direct result of your requests for something with a true metal flake appearance and a more fire engine type red to add to our finish lineup. Team BT always makes every effort within reason to accommodate your requests and if enough folks with real interest express that is what they want to have done we will work hard to make sure we get something that will satisfy everyone in the majority who ask for something specific.

Why Doesn’t BT Offer Paint as a Finish?

No friends we do not paint, and there is a very good reason why; painting pure, aircraft grade, certified 6061 aluminum is more than sanding and spraying it on with a spray gun.   There is a specific, proper process you must use when preparing the material to receive the paint, and subsequent clear coat after, to ensure that the paint will still adhere to the parts and remain over time.  How do we know this?  After 45 years in business and a vast and wide ranging knowledge or working on and directly with aircraft parts, and aircraft grade material and an FAA Repair station at one time we used to paint as part of specific job requirements and call outs and we worked with specialized vendors in those fields for those processes.  

If the proper process is not followed later on down the road, even with a clear coat, the paint’s adhesion and durability will fail, resulting in flaws in the finish. Powder coating is the next best thing and its durable. Just remember never put mineral spirts on your powder coated pieces.

Product Stock Statuses

Below please find some information concerning what is out of stock and coming back into stock. The MFG Updates are our very best way to keep you in the loop on what’s happening here at the facility, but when in doubt, about anything, call us.

Coolant Reservoir Covers

Coolant Reservoir Covers are back on the machine now. We will start shipping satin machine finish again in 7-10 days. You guys are gals are eating these up big time and we should have inventory moving forward after this run too.

The 3rd and final redesign that allows you to keep the product on your vehicles at all times was truly worth the wait. No matter if you have a Demon with air grabber system, a T/A or any 2011 and up you will have ZERO hood closure issues as long as you have a factory hood.

2005-2010 Washer Fluid Caps

These are off the machine now and inventory has been replenished. We are starting to ship all back orders now in satin machine finish and colors will start to go out in the coming week. We have not held any under hood kits and shipped several complete sets already less your washer caps so when you see your order pop up on an coming update it will be noted that its only for that specific part.

Supercharger Coolant Reservoir Covers

Hellcat and Demon Supercharger Coolant reservoir covers are off the machine and satin is shipping again. Colors will start to go out for finish next week.

Devo Strut Covers

We have no stock presently. They will be on the machine again the week of September 24th.

Water Necks

Water necks for Hellcats, Demons, as well as 5.7, 6.1 and 392 engines will be on the machine the week of September 24th also. We have one titanium tapped water neck for 5.7, 6.1 and 392 based vehicles and one green standard (non tapped) water neck on the shelf for 5.7, 61. And 392 engines. That’s it until we get another run in.

EGR Block Off Kits

We have no stock. We have pushed the next MFG Run to early October. That will hold firm.

2013+ Throttle Body & Hellcat Bypass Valve Covers

Both of these are machined complete again. Satins are shipping colors and polish will start to ship in early October again.

Door Lock Kits

We are almost back in stock. Almost the key word we have pins completed but not the bezels. Will be ready to ship satin kits again late the week of September 17th.

Hellcat Catch Can Brackets

These brackets are on the machine. We should see little to no delay in shipping your product to you. We were waiting for material. Our material supplier sent the wrong size to us by accident, delaying us by a couple of days.

Satin Catch Cans

These are running all the time. We have quickly broken through the bottleneck that took place after loosing six weeks of production (refer to prior updates) and all colors are either out getting finished or will be heading out here in the coming week to 10 days to get finished.

Please remember if you need us to ship a satin can to you immediately just call (561.582.6171) or email us. If you are ordering online, just let us know in the order comments section, and will get your can out with 1-3 business days.

Due to the massive volume of cans we produce each month, not just for us but for our private label clients, we do have a two week to ship minimum on satin cans. And speaking of that two weeks to ship that lead-time will be cut in half or better by early November. To keep up with production demands we ordered a third turning center, take delivery early November.

We know you have choices. Many of those choices are direct knockoffs, or clones, of our product. Some copy our product right down to the exact appearance, while others just change the outside keeping the two chambered top design. We appreciate you and your supporting staying with the official (can we say that ha), and original, modern Mopar catch can. Brought to you first by BT over a dozen years ago. Innovating, not imitating; thats how we do it here!

Lead Time for Final Processes

With that folks here is what has gone out and come back. Please allow us 7-14 days to complete any final procedure such as assembly or engravings if you see your order is back. If you think that will interfere with an event you have coming up call us so we can work towards your schedule.
