Manufacturing Update July 11, 2018

Folks good afternoon. Welcome to another edition of our Manufacturing Updates. A quick note: we revised the July 9th Update to reflect the clear and matte clear anodize as back in. In this update we’ll cover product availability, lead times, finishes, and how we choose which colors to send out.

UPDATE 7.12.2018: Yellow from June 26^th and July 9^th is back. Order table has been added below.

Bad News First: Previous Batch of Standard Blue

Speaking of the Update from July 9th as we posted Blue and Matte Blue was coming back in. As we got further into the unpacking the parts, it appears that some of the standard semi gloss or “ice” blue was done as matte. The team is going through that now and will be reaching out to those customers effected by this with options. Please allow us a day or two to get that sorted out and will be contacting you either via phone, email or both.

Colors Still Out for Finishing

The following are still out at plate from June:

• Matte Black
• Copper/Bronze (all variations)
• Purple (matte and semi gloss)

We expect our matte black and copper/bronze back before the end of this week.

Batchs On Deck for Color

As mentioned on Monday’s update we are preparing to send up several more large batches of colors again in the coming days so please stay tuned. If you have not seen your order pop up you will shortly and when in doubt just call or email us. Remember all satin machine finished parts are kept here in blanks and we usually ship those orders out within 15 days.

Remember folks if you see your order has come back in from finish please allow us up to 15 (business) days to complete final processes or assemblies prior to releasing your items to package.

Availability & Lead Times

All products are up to date in the Availability Section of each product (underneath the pricing when you open up what you are looking at). Please be aware, as regular readers of our updates will confirm, we are slammed folks. We are doing everything we can to stay within the 20 business day lead-time.

Extended Lead Time

We are in “extended lead-time” situation currently. We are aware that some of you are going over that 20 biz day lead time, while others are getting your parts in as little as 10 days. One example is the orange finishes we sent out today. We have some folks with orders from May just now going out and many up thru July 9th that went out to finish today for those colors.

How We Decide Which Colors to Send Out

There are a number of factors that determine when and why we send parts to finish. First and always we need more than a few pieces to go to plate for our plater to justify setting up a tank of color. This is what is referred to as a lot run. Some colors such as the oranges run hot or cold. Number two we may hold sending ANY plating out if our outside suppliers are as backed up as we are. As we have stated several times our first priority is providing our customers with a superior finish, high quality product.Team BT will always choose quality over quantity.
