Manufacturing Update July 14, 2020

Good afternoon everyone. Always, and most importantly of all, thank you for your support and trust. Thank you for checking in, and thank you for allowing us to be part of your ownership experiences.

Today’s update will be brief. We will cover the batches of colors which have come in, and those which have gone out. You’ll find information about BT and COVID19, payments, and an update on the two machines which went down last week. Let’s get started.

Colors In, Out and On Deck

We got the big batch of Standard Black anodize, and the batch of Polish, back from the June 24th update.

We know a lot of you are waiting on that Matte Black batch from June 4th. That batch will be ready in just a few more days. Friends, it will be worth it.

The matte colors require special proprietary processing to be done to achieve that look. You won’t be disappointed. When we picked up the standard black, the matte was being worked on as was the orange, and matte orange.

We sent out batches of White powder coat, Machine, and Matte Copper today.

Those of you with orders in with Liquid Copper, please give us bit of leeway as we are waiting on the new sample to come in. As we mentioned in the last update, our plater has decided to discontinue that option.

Have no fear, we have a sample, of what we think will be a fantastic replacement, on the way and parts to test it on already there with our powder coater.  

Next round of finishes to go out will be batches of clear and matte clear anodize. We should be sending those out within the next day or so. If you have any questions, concerns or want more info, please just call (561.582.6171) or email us.

Update on the Down Machines

As we mentioned on the July8th update, we have two machines down. We received most of the parts needed to complete the repairs.

The drive unit for the quick turn (lathe) has been fixed, and on its way to us. The drive unit for the mill was in final testing with the repair techs, and both those servo drives will be back to us in the next couple of days. Once we receive those drives, we can bring the mill, and lathe back online before the weekend.

This obviously has pushed production back on some of our out of stock pieces. Please refer to the July8th update, from last week, for more information.

As soon as those machines are making chips again (valve covers were on the front side op’s were on the mill) we will put in the work needed to get caught up. Some Valve Covers sets were completed, and we had a couple sets go off to finish today, as will be reflected on the outbound color tables below.

Catch Cans

Satin catch cans are shipping per our lead-time info (within 3-7 business days or sooner).

If you need us to ship your satin catch can the next business day please do notate that in the order comments when checking out, or if you are placing your order over the phone let one of the friendly BT folks who answer the phone know and we will get it handled.

All satin catch cans through July 9th are shipped, or waiting to be picked up in our shipping lobby. Tracking numbers are updated in those orders.

Satin Catch Cans from July 10th to right now, July 14th are clearing assembly and will be shipping out tomorrow.

Lead Time for Final Processes

Friends when you see your order has come back in from outside finishes, and you require any engraving please allow us up to 14 days to complete your order.

If you have a stand alone catch can that has come back in without any other parts we will have those assembled, and shipping to you before the end of the week.

Combo of catch can, and other items requiring engraving? Allow us up to 14 days to wrap up your order, and get your packages out the door.

Payments: PayPal, Credit Cards, etc

Friendly reminder if you pay with PayPal the payment is instant. We do not control this. If you are not comfortable with us holding your money until your items are ready to ship, please reach out to us.

Please refer to our How Do I Pay For My Order at the footer of the website. This information is also on your emailed invoice copy after you place your order, and on the “Thank You Page” when you self check out.

Help us, help you. We understand trust is delicate. If you file a dispute with PayPal prior to contacting us, we will automatically close the order (as in canceled), and allow your disputed funds to be returned to your account. We are easy to talk to, so just reach out to us.

When you pay with your credit card your order may be subject to a 30% deposit charge to start work. The deposit is completely refundable, and this information is also on your Invoice copy. Alex always sends an email reminder if we do take that 30% charge.

Covid19 Update

Folks we are monitoring the situation as it relates to the Covid19 pandemic. As mentioned last week, we may have to move to move back to staggered shifts to increase social distancing. However, at this time, we are not requiring that.

Our team continues to take the necessary safety precautions here at the facility to ensure we adhere to all the CDC recommendations, and state guidelines.

Visitors are still welcome at the BT HQ, however we ask you to call in, and schedule your visit or pickup time. We are only allowing two per visiting party, and please have a facial mask when visiting us if you plan to come inside.
