Manufacturing Update July 20, 2018

Good evening everyone and once again welcome to the latest happenings here at the facility.

We will have another update for you again late Monday or early Tuesday morning as we have product that was in the finishes stages up at plate and powder coat as we write this article. So today will focus on the items that went to standard black anodize and also we have a satin catch can table with ETA to ship so lets get started.

Summer Extended Lead-Time

Please note due to the current workload we are in the summer extended lead-time. Please remember if you need something sooner, reach out to us via email or phone (561.582.6171) with the date which you have to have your parts by. Team BT will make every effort to try to get your order to you in that time frame. While we can’t guarantee your order by that date, we will do our very best.

Item Availability in the Store

The availability is 100% up to date in the BT online store, as of today’s posting. In addition to our lead-time info located at the footer of the website, all individual products contain lead-time info as well.

Lathe Down: Catch Can Production

Folks as reported on the July 17th update we have had a lathe down. This is affecting catch can production at this time. As you know this is our best selling product, and has been since we introduced it a dozen years ago. We have had a rash of storms and power outages here in South Florida, and we lost a power supply board on one of our lathes. The one lathe has been subsequently repaired two weeks ago, and we had the other lathe go down for the same issue (power failure) late last week.

We had hoped to be back up and running by now. However, due to other commitments, we have had to stop catch can production to complete a non automotive job on our only open and working turning center at this time. We are unable to move production on to our other lathe, because it remains down.

As of todays update the lathe where we need to move catch can production to the power supply and several other boards have been replaced and it powers up once more.  We have one more electronic board coming in Monday where we can safely operate the machine again that will be installed late Monday afternoon when the techs from Okuma arrive with that last puzzle piece.  Once the techs have installed the board and tested the machine’s functionality, we will be making cans again. Chips should be flying before dawn early Tuesday morning.

Redoubling Our Efforts: Satin Catch Cans

We will redouble our efforts to get back to the 15 day time frame to ship in satin as quickly as possible. We have tops (612) only at the present time and have material here ready to start bottoms. You can expect to see most of these individual outstanding orders on satin catch cans begin shipping late next week and really pushing hard the week of July 30th. Once we are making chips again, and catch can the bottoms are turned and completed, the team can begin assembly. Team BT will update you next week on where we stand.

Towards the end of next week we will have the other lathe free and catch cans will then be running on both of our turning centers to literally “catch” up on these satin orders. We will have a lot more colors heading out to be plated too. So if you have ordered a catch can in any one of our colors and it has not appeared yet on our updates please be patient over the next 10 days or so as you will start to see those color cans pop up on the updates.

Delayed Catch Can Orders via PayPal

If you paid via PayPal and you are uncomfortable with us holding your funds (and that goes for any of our products) please reach out to us (email or phone: 561.582.6171). BT will absolutely provide you a refund and send you a money request when your item is ready to ship. As we tell you in the “How Do I Pay For My Order” article that is linked on our page and on your invoice, PayPal is instant. If during that wait time you are not comfy with us having those funds just, reach out. Will work with you and do exactly as stated refund then resend a money request when ready to ship. We understand 100% when it comes to your funds trust is delicate.

Lead Time for Final Processes

Remember if you see your order has come back in please allow us up to 15 days to complete any assemblies and final processes such as engraving before shipping your order. If you need your parts quicker than that time frame please do call or email us so we can get you moved up to meet your show or date deadline.

Coolant Tank Covers: Third Time is the Charm

Folks Coolant tank covers are 100% and all hoods will close now. Satin covers will start to roll out the door the week of July 30th. Colors will stat to go to plate late that week of July 30th. The team is wrapping production on 200 plus covers, enough to fill current business and have product on the shelf moving forward.

No real estate on that tank has been compromised so those of you who like to use that canvass to go wild on with your themes you can. Some of them that we have done have been nothing short of spectacular and there are several dozen that will be done on this run that are going to blow you away. If you have been sitting on the sidelines waiting for us to be back in stock on this piece you can safely order now and will be shipping to you within 30 days or sooner but first all back business will be filled
