Manufacturing Update July 17, 2018

Good afternoon everyone and once again welcome to the latest happenings here at the facility.

Summer Extended Lead-Time

Please note due to the current workload, yes we are slammed, a huge thank you to everyone for the support and trust, we are in the summer extended lead-time. Please remember if you need something sooner, reach out to us via email or phone with the need by day you have to have your parts by so we can make an effort to work with you to try to get your order to you in that time frame.

Item Availability in the Store

The availability is 100% up to date in the BT online store, as of today’s posting. In addition to our lead-time info located at the footer of the website, all individual products contain lead-time info as well.

Lathe Down: Catch Can Production

Folks we we do have a lathe currently down in the shop. This is affecting catch can production at this time. As you know this is our best selling product and has been since we introduced it a dozen years ago. We have had a rash of storms and power outages here and we lost a power supply board on one of our lathes that has been subsequently repaired two weeks ago, and we had the other go down for the same issue late last week. We hope to be back up and running on the one machine again before the end of the week but due to some other commitments we have had to stop catch can production to complete a non automotive job.

Redoubling Our Efforts: Satin Catch Cans

We will redouble our efforts to get back to the 15 day time frame to ship in satin as quickly as possible. We have tops (612) only at the present time and have material here ready to start bottoms. As soon as we can, we will start shipping satin cans again. Currently we have all covered thru June 15th. We appreciate you and your patience truly and if you have any questions, please call us.

Coming: Satin Catch Can Table

In an update later this week, we will post a satin catch can table of what still has not shipped and an ETA. We are working through a large number of satin cans, going from assembly, to inspection, then onto packaging we want to get those out and then update whats left that we still need to finish up as we do not have bottoms at this time.  

Delayed Catch Can Orders via PayPal

If you paid via PayPal and you are uncomfortable with us holding your funds (and that goes for any of our products) please reach out to us. BT will absolutely provide you a refund and send you a money request when your item is ready to ship.  As we tell you in how did you pay for my order that is linked on our page and on your invoice Paypal is instant during that wait time if you are not comfy with us having those funds just reach out.  Will work with you and do exactly as stated refund then resend a money request when ready to ship. 

Product Stock Status

We are in good shape on almost all products here at the shop. We currently only are out of 2.7L/6.1L oil caps and Hellcat/Demon Supercharger Coolant Reservoir Covers. Material is ordered for both and will begin the next production run the week of July 30th.

Big Coolant Tank Covers

Big coolant tanks are wrapping on this manufacturing run with satin machine finish covers starting to ship hopefully late the week of July 23rd. We once again tweaked the design to ensure we still have all that real estate to engrave on, and ensure closing the hood won’t be an issue including the hoods of those with shakers.

We have close to 400 units completing on these covers with the bulk of them going into debur shortly. Colors will be ready to head out along with polish by the end of the month. If you need one urgently please let us know. We will be back on lead-time with this product by the end of the month.

Finishes

Today we only have sent out a round of standard semi gloss red anodize out for finish and this is only the start of that particular color. As we have mentioned in the past, while we do send up a LOT of pieces in each batch we are mindful of quality over quantity.

We usually send on our most popular colors at least a thousand individual pieces, (that can include catch can tops, bottoms and mounting) and we like to hold that limit right there. Once we know our turn is up to be racked, dipped and sealed then we prepare the next round of the same color to go up.

Red: Catch Cans and More

In this round all catch cans in this standard semi gloss red anodize through June 24th are covered. That includes those of you with more than a can on order. The comments in the table below will indicate “all items” in that particular circumstance.

Next Batch of Colors

We will have additional finishes (both anodize and powder coat) heading out before the end of this week. If you have not seen your order pop up yet and it requires a color have a bit more patience chance are you will. As soon as we get the thumbs up to send up other colors (as tanks are prepared for the dip process) we will post an update.

Finishes Still Out

The following finishes are still out and waiting to come back in:

• Purple & Matte Purple from June 29th
• Orange & Matte Orange from July 11th
• Pink from June 15th
• White from July 9th

Copper/Bronze & Matte Black are Back

We have received matte black and copper/bronze back (machine finish, matte finish and liquid finish) today. Below please find the received tables and locate your order. Any questions please call or email us.

Lead Time for Final Processes

Remember if you see your order has come back in please allow us up to 15 days to complete any assemblies and final processes such as engraving before shipping your order. If you need your parts quicker than that time frame please do call or email us so we can get you moved up to meet your show or date deadline.

New Color: Signal Red Powder Coat

And speaking of finishes we will be introducing “signal red” powder coat here in the coming days. This finish is for those of you who have asked us for a more vibrant red such as the Brembo Brake red or as it states a traffic light red. We ordered the dye and our powder coater has relocated to a bigger facility over the July 4th holiday and is back up and operational so we expect that round to come in shortly and we can show you the finish. We make every effort to listen to what you want, provide you information weekly and communicate with you clearly so you know what to expect.
