Manufacturing Update June 1st, 2018

Good afternoon folks and welcome to the first MFG Update of June 2018. Its hard to believe we have made it to the half way point of 2018 and what a ride it has been. First and always we are absolutely BLOWN AWAY by everyones support and trust. We have already surpassed last years total sales and did so in May. Its absolutely incredible and needless to say, as we have said it many times, thank you never seems enough.

Bottlenecks via Supporting Parts

If you follow along with our updates on a regular basis you see how much product is actually moving through the manufacturing process. Many times our lead-times go out, not for lack of actual product, it’s that we are literally clearing our suppliers out of the parts we need to complete certain products, or we run out of supporting pieces such, as brackets for cans or Hellcat quick connects.

We do run a Just in Time facility. When were know we are getting low we immediately order materials, hose and/or hardware to have it ready for the next round of shipments. Because we also sell individual hardware, bracket and fittings as well as support our client base when they move into a different setup with a “pay it forward” mentality regarding brackets and fittings we are continually in a “must build” situation on some of our most popular products; the catch can being one of those.

Revised Lead Times

For those of you who place your orders with us, especially in satin machine finish, we are at about three weeks to ship. We should be free of the bottlenecks again some time next week and really start moving them once more. This is a product that is in continual production here. Anyone with colors and or polish you already know to keep an eye on these updates for when your order goes to plate.

Built for Car Nuts by Car Nuts

One of the biggest questions we will get as it relates to the above paragraph is how come my order does not appear to be going out to finish but someone with a higher up number is. Its simple we may not have all the additional pieces needed. Black is not usually an issue nor are the matte colors its the red, blue, purple, ect where we like to plate all your parts together to ensure color consistency.

With the overwhelming volume of orders we place bigger and bigger demands on our vendor partners (who do a fantastic job for us). Many ask why not source elsewhere? Its easy; loyalty and respect is a two way street. We are loyal to our suppliers and we work with the best folks. We are demanding of ourselves and want the absolute best when it comes to colors. Since we do not do that here, nor do we want to we seek out companies and individuals who share our passion for excellence.

This is why we say, with all due respect to you our potential clients, “if you cannot wait, do not wish to wait, or you like the Amazon, eBay model of ship it now we will not be for you. If you are looking for a group and or company that is as passionate about automobiles, trucks, bikes and all things cool related to the aftermarket then we will be a great fit with you.” Not only do we use our products we actively modify our own vehicles, racing them, showing them and some of us are a little batty when it comes to car audio too!

We can all agree nothing is better than going outside to your driveway or taking a peek into your garage and seeing your sled! Nothing is better than seeing your ride becoming your vision. This is what we want to do, and do daily, when our customers allow us the opportunity to be part of their ownership and creative experience. The whole crew gets a major rush seeing our creations on your rides, and seeing you happy.  Its why we like to feature customer cars on these update headers.  

Nothing is better, and this is why we actively participate with you at events, race with you at the races, and love to interact with you on the social webs. Sure some days we may not get along with each other, but at the end of the day its that love for our cars that bonds us and even if we have a disagreement that bond between the nod and a wink of “hey nice sled” usually is an ice breaker to friendships forged beyond the cars themselves.

We may not have a fancy show room with a checkered floor with a bunch of nifty display cases (we do have a nice one in the lobby with a wide variety of our work and not just car parts), but what we do have is the ability to show you the magic and for us to interact with you and share your passion. With all that out of the way lets talk “shop.”

Shop Talk

Product wise we are in excellent shape on inventory. We are building as needed each month, many times per month on our most popular items. Satin machine finished items ship usually within 15 business days of ordering. All product is kept in satin machine finish blanks. If you need something sooner as we always say please reach out to us with an email or phone call and your “need by day” and will work to get that done for you. In nearly ever case we are able to make is happen.

BT Vault: Interior Parts

We are wrapping up several interior items to make a comeback and these pieces will be a return from the BT Vault. Already hood shock covers are shipping, and the return or trunks shock covers, a/c knobs all years, headlight knobs, power seat covers, etc are coming back.

We are doing things different this time and allocating certain quantities to go for colors and setting aside certain quantities for satin machine finish and polish. Once they are gone they will be gone. Based on feedback from our focus group we use (past clients who attend regular shows and are active in the community) we will have a good mix of product for every taste bud.

Once these items are gone they will be gone again. We are the originators of the interior line up of parts, and as demand waned we retired them. What we can tell you is our product will be head and shoulders above what is currently offered, and old timers know what we did before, and it will be almost half the price. Be on the lookout for us to open up product under a new section on the website labeled BT Vault here very soon.

Valve Covers

Valve covers will be cutting on Monday! Satin machine finishes will start to ship by the middle of June. Colors will be expedited as they come off the machine completed. We know many of you have motors completing and out of the car. Everyone with a current order in here as of today will be out the door by the second week of July including colors with designer cut.

There is a reason we have a deep stack of back orders for these, its because this is by far and away the “monolith” of any build. When you unbox them you will understand why, and our current client base waiting is in that category of having seen them and “I don’t care how long I have to wait I want it.” This is extremely satisfying for us as a group of perfectionist. The flip side of that, someone who waited for a good while and someone coming on board say tomorrow well you get the point…… Delivery is the same regardless.

With the valve covers making cuts coil pack covers are right in step and those run quickly and will be wrapped up with our next manufacturing run of those in June as well with colors and polish shipping tentative from late June until completed. We say tentative because the first shipping days may move into early July. Inventory is being built to fill current orders and have product back in stock moving forward based on a 90 days on the shelf turn around time. Same for the valve covers too.

Coolant Tank Covers

Coolant tank covers the next rounds are also starting in the next week. We are running those and valve covers concurrently. Shipments on the coolant tank cover will start in June and all orders will be filled late June through July until completed. We have MANY cool custom engraves, on these rounds, and if you follow us on Instagram or Facebook you know what our team is capable of doing. Not only do we have some of the best digital artists in the country we do not laser cut to create beautiful detailed and breathtaking pieces of automotive jewelry. Nothing is better for us to have a client call or email and say its even better than I imagined. This is what we push ourselves to, to create things that will blow you away.

6.2L Dip Sticks

As long time readers know the mothership made a change to the 6.2L engine and moved the recommended oil requirements from 6 to 7 quarts. As you also know Team BT gives you a turn key product out of the box and that includes our oil dipsticks attached to a factory replacement. The factory replacement now includes the new inlet tube to ensure that the stick is long enough for the additional quart of oil. We do not like a tacky bolt on huge stick we like our pieces to be visually appealing and look like they belong there this is why we do this part different from our competitors.

With that said we are experiencing delays getting the factory stick and inlet tubes (they are sold together). This is delaying us in sending some oil dipsticks out. We are not holding your orders if you have multiple pieces, but your Hellcat dipstick from us may not be in the box. This is why as we are waiting for more factory sticks to come in. We have most folks filled but as we process and start to get orders ready to go to plate and or polish from the past couple weeks we know we will be short unless we get some of those factory sticks in. In the meantime we are still processing and completing our part to mate it to the factory setup when it comes in.

Manifold Baffle Covers

Manifold baffle covers we have had to push them back to a mid June run again. We don’t have many open orders for those at the moment and as Ambassador Spock said in Star Trek (sorry folks going all geek here) ‘the needs of the many” come to mind at this point. This also loops back around to the we may tell you something you don’t want to hear. For those with manifold baffle covers that is with this update.

As stated earlier all other current product for sale on our site we are in good shape.

Colors Still at Plate

The following orders are still out at plate:

• Purple and matte purple from May 4th
• Blue and matte blue from May 10th
• Matte black from May 14th
• Clear and matte clear anodize from May 17th
• Orange and matte orange from May 23rd.

Matte Red Returns

We have received matte red back and you may view the order table to locate your order. Remember folks please allow us 7-15 business days to complete any final processes such as engraving, or assembly to ship to you. If you need it quicker and you see your order has come back in email or call us and will do what we can to work to make that happen for you. In most cases we are able to do just that.

Satin Catch Cans

Finally satin all satin catch cans on order here with us by individual customers like you. No bulk orders or dealer orders on this table. We have included a time frame when shipping. These dates may change depending on our supplier partners for fitting and hoses but they should hold firm. What you can expect from us if we do slip them will revisit this table and add on to it as new orders come in and old orders ship off as we post new updates moving forward until we clear out some of the bottlenecks.

Remember folks this is machine satin finish all colors and polish will appear on the out to finish tables as we send your items out for those processes.

Wrapping It Up

Finally we know this update was a college thesis, so please keep in mind and remember we are cutting chips here daily until 9:00 P.M. M-F however, phones are live from 6:00 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. EST.
