Manufacturing Update June 3, 2022

Good afternoon everyone. Welcome back, and welcome to the weekend. As always our team sincerely thanks you for your support and trust. It’s been quite the journey this year as we are at the halfway point for 2022. You guys never cease to amaze us with your generous love and support. Thank you.

Factory Color Match

First factory color match items.

The factory color matched orders have the highest priority here. As we have explained in our prior updates, but will recap quickly here for those who missed it. We had two suppliers, one local and one in California.

Unfortunately we had to part ways with our local supplier earlier in the year and right after our major holiday events where we literally sell six months worth of product in less than 30 days. Our local painters are very good people, however there were just too many quality issues. Some of these issues popped up after the parts shipped to customers, and others in the engraving processes. The paint was peeling off the parts, and it was becoming too costly for us and for them. The door was left open in case they are able to resolve the issues down the road. We continue to actively look for another local paint source.  

Loosing our local supplier put a larger workload on our partner in California who has stepped up to complete all of the factory color match batches. They can only handle so much volume at a time, which is why there is a delay in sending batches out to them and delays getting stuff back.  

The final product is well worth the wait, but the wait is very long, even by BT standards. You, our loyal customers have repeatedly asked for us to continue offering the factory color matched options, so we are. Just know the wait is long, and we are doing everything we can with our vendor partner to speed up the process while retaining the quality you expect from Billet Technology.

Octane Red & B5 Blue

Octane Red and B5 Blue are the oldest batches, and have the most open orders.

The Octane Red is being polished now (post paint final) and will be ready for packing and shipping back to us early to mid next week.

B5 Blue will follow a few days later. Most of the batch has been painted and is curing, then off to polish. On the next MFG Update you will see those as back, or coming back in, once we have the tracking details.

F8 Green

The F8 Green batch is scheduled to ship back to us the week of June 13th.

Redline Red and Smokeshow

Redline Red and Smokeshow are primed and ready for color. Their scheduled date to ship back to BT has been moved to the week of June 13th.

Indigo Blue

Today you will see we have a batch of Indigo Blue that has gone out. Within the next two weeks we will have an ETA for when those orders will be completed.

Frostbite Blue

We will be sending out a batch of Frostbite Blue by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week and you will see those orders on the next MFG Update.

Other Color Match Batches On Deck

The next rounds of factory color matching schedule to go to painting in the next 7-14 days:

Support Small Businesses

Folks please be mindful that like us, our vendor partners are running into increased costs, delays on materials, or items they too need to complete orders. We are providing the best information we have as of today. We stand with our vendor partners as so many businesses are doing their very best to work around the shortfalls on supplies and labor. Things are fluid and will remain so for sometime.  

Supply Chain Issues

This brings us to our own challenges regarding supply chain, shortages, ect:

Fortunately the BT Team has all worked together for a very long time. The old timers here at our facility we have been together for 25-30 years. Our kids work with us in the business now. We do not have issues with labor and helping hands.

Where we are running into problems are materials. Alro has a distribution facility located here just about a 20 minute drive south of us.   We have always been able to order today and get delivery tomorrow. This has never been a problem for the nearly 20 years as the BT Brand and over 35 years at this location buying materials for the other side of our business. Now it is.

Now we are seeing a 2-4 week lead-time on some sizes as well as limits on how many bars we can buy.

We will do our best to work around these situations as they develop.

If we have to start sourcing material from out of state then we may have to start looking at some price increases. We are holding our pricing for now even in the face of having increases as much as 40% on our end.

This is not just a BT issue. It is an issue for all manufacturers, and as consumers we are all in this food chain together. As always, we will be transparent, open and honest with you every step of the way.

We understand your car is an escape, not just for you, but for us too, so we get it. We will do everything we can to keep our prices firm where they are now.

Anodize Out, Some Already Back

We sent a round of standard black anodize to our anodizer yesterday, and we should see that batch in about a week. We sent a batch of Orange and Matte Orange out since our last update, and it has already returned to the shop along with the batch of Polish in the tables below.

Other Batches Back

The batches of Purple, Matte Purple, Titanium and Matte Titanium have come back in from plating. You can find the information on those batches in the tables below. As always if you have any questions, or need more info on your order just call (561.582.6171) or email us. We are here to help.

Anodize On Deck

Red, matte black, and blue and matte blue are all bundled up and ready to go out. We have some catch cans z-brackets that will be off the machine Monday mid afternoon, and fuse box covers that will be off the machine this weekend to go with those batches. Those batches will head out for anodize Monday afternoon.

Please call if you need an update on any of those finishes or want to see if you are in those batches to be finished.

White & Racing Red Metallic

The white and racing red metallic are being picked up Monday from powder coating. We added in to those batches this week and you will see that information for both those finishes in the tables below .

Stock Status Updates

We have the inventory statuses up to date for each product in the Availability Section located next to the unit price on the individual product’s page.

ABS Covers

We have everyone covered who ordered through May 23rd. There was a delay in our second round of material that would have allowed us to keep running that product, so we had to break down the machine and run other products that are in need.

The material for the next round ABS Covers is scheduled to arrive between June 9th and June 14th. As soon as we get it we will get back on those and fill orders from May 24th forward. We will have some inventory in satin machine finish on the shelf again after that run.

Satin Catch Cans

Satin catch cans through June 1st are shipped or in shipping now so please check your inboxes for tracking details. Satin cans are shipping within 3-5 days from ordering.

If you need us to ship your can the next business day after you place your order let us know in the comments box if you are ordering online. If you are placing your order over the phone, just tell us you need it to “ship asap” and we will take care of that for you.
