Manufacturing Update April 15, 2022

Good afternoon BT Family. It’s Friday and it’s update time again. Pull up a chair, grab a beverage and read on.

Supply Chain Issues

First we want to talk to you guys and gals regarding material and supply chain issues.

Presently we are having to work around some issues as it relates to specific sizes of aluminum, tubing, and hardware.

We have two boards on order for our CNCs one since earl January and the other since the end of January. Thankfully the electronic issues are on one specific machine. We are still able to use that machining center however, in a limited capacity.

Another item we are running into issues with is o-rings. It’s taking about a week to ten days to get them. We are currently back ordered on the last order we placed on Tuesday. ETA for the o-rings (catch cans and strut covers) is April 19th.

In years past we could call Alro order and have delivery the next day. Not anymore. So we are adjusting as needed and in continual contact with our sales reps (for materials and hardware) to forecast our needs and order ahead as needed. We are in trying times, all of us, and just like the Covid lockdowns we are going to get through it together with all of you.

Inventory Statuses

Fuse Box Covers

As far as materials go we had planned to keep running fuse box covers through next week. However, we cannot get any more material until later this month, possibly early May.

We have everyone with an open order covered (all styles) and inventory on the shelf for new biz.

Did we want even more stock ready for any future biz and specifications by you our clients? Yes, but we have kept our current fuse box material order open, and we will start another run in May.

Hood Shock Covers

Another issue we are having is getting tube stock for our hood shock covers.

We have stock for the cars, but it is getting low.

It’s the Durangos and Jeeps which we are extremely low on material. As of this update we have a couple of those in stock, and then we will be sold out.

We cannot get tube stock until “sometime” in May. We are giving you guys a heads up, if you want them, order them now before they are gone.

ABS Covers

ABS Covers are going on after the fuse box covers. We have quite a few orders we have to fill. The orders we will fill on this run include some old orders, all the way up to current business.

Colors will be start going out for finishes this month.

3mm Wheel Spacers

We sold out a couple weeks ago. These are not super high on the manufacturing priority list. We have only a couple open orders. We have communicated with those customers and they are waiting.

We will be restocked on 3mm spacers in early May. If we get an open slot of machine time they could possibly go on sooner.

Uni-Strut Covers

We will be getting those on a machine late next week or early the following week. Material is ordered and we are firm for delivery middle of next week.

Coil Pack Covers

We have quite a few coil pack covers on order. We are preparing to engrave the sets we have received back from color. Folks have seen the sets we completed over the past month so of course orders picked up again.

We will run the next batch in mid-May. We have ordered the material already keeping in mind that we are running into supply chain issues.

Coolant Tank Covers

We have five on back order and we ordered material with an estimated arrival the week of May 23rd. We do not want to get too far in the hole on these. We stopped our production run way short of where we too, but we will pick up the slack as soon as the material arrives.

Satin Catch Cans

Satin catch cans are shipping in around the 10 business day mark from the day you order. We can ship our satin can the next business day after you place our order just let us know over the phone if you, or in the comment box if ordering online, and we will take are of it.

This could change due to the O-Ring situation. We are mindful of older orders coming back from color we must ensure we have the o-rings to get those cans assembled. It is a balancing act, but we are managing it.

Factory Color Match

Sublime & Plum Crazy

The Sublime and Plum Crazy orders will be back next week and we will get those buttoned up and out.

TorRed

We do have a box of TorRed Catch cans that is due back in so some of you guys and gals are waiting on the TorRed Cans. We covered the issue on TorRed in last week’s update so take a peak over there if you did not check it out last week. We have shipped quite a few back orders from the TorRed batch, we will have most everyone from that batch shipped out of here next week.

Factory Color Match Batches Sent Out

On the factory color match paint we have Redline Red and Smoke Show heading out and those table are below.

F8 Green and Destroyer Grey we have a few more orders that need fuse boxes and then all set they will be on next week’s update. Sorry for the push back looking at Tuesday to go west with those and yes many are old.

Last Call for Smoke Show

This is the final call for Smoke Show! We will be removing it as an option at the end of the month. It’s not really moving and the needs of the many come outweigh the few on some of these color match finishes. We can revisit on group buys in the future again on smoke show if there is enough interest.

Other Colors Out

Anodize finishes are turning around in one week. The batch of Black we sent out is already back in house.

Powder coating in White, and Racing Red around 15-20 days when we send the finishes out.

We also sent a batch of polish out this week.

Colors On Deck

Next colors on anodize and powder coat heading out the week of April 18th are Orange, Matte Orange, Blue, Matte Blue, Red, and Matte Red. It looks like we will get another round of Purple in as well.
