Manufacturing Update April 27, 2022

Good afternoon folks. First, our apologies for the delay in getting the update out to you.

The last time we visited with you was on April 15th. It’s been super busy here, and yes, sometimes the business end of business has to take a front seat, but that’s why we are a team. As the person who writes these I have had my hands full on other things, but rest assured parts are moving through the manufacturing process, emails are being answered, and phone calls handled. Let’s get started.

Inventory

We do have some inventory updates to bring to you today so we will get those covered first.

ABS Covers

ABS Covers are on the machine, and we have started sending colors out to be finished.

Back orders in satin machine finish have started heading in to Andrea to ship today.

We are restocked now with inventory on the shelf moving forward. It’s been a hot minute, so thank you everyone for your patience.

Track Hawk Water Necks

These sold out last weekend. We had a flurry of orders between April 21st and the 24th. We sold over 30 of those and it was completely unexpected. Something must have gone viral somewhere that we don’t know about.

We will be doing another run of these sometime in May, and will update you all accordingly when material is ordered.

Ram Fuse Box Covers (2017+)

We have one left in racing red metallic. It will be towards the end of May when we do another MFG Run for the 2017 and up Ram fuse box covers.

2005-2012 Throttle Body Covers

We are sold out. We have only one backorder presently.

We will slot these in to be manufactured in May, but we do not have a solid date presently, as other more pressing needs are in front of that.

Sigma Series Oil Cap Covers

We are sold out of these. We have slotted them for manufacturing the 2nd week of May.

Power Seat Covers

We are set up and will start cutting them now.

We will fill the back orders and randoms that we could not do as completed kits first. Thank you all again for your patience.

We have been shipping what we have and notating your orders if you are missing a part of a set in the order comments, so please pay attention to the packing lists/invoices we do enclose with your shipments. We have had some calls about “Hey did you forget part of my order?”. No not at all.  The info is in the comments section of the packing slip.

Coil Pack Covers

We are sold out presently on new business. We started to get material quotes and will be firming up the next purchase of materials for these in the next week or so.

We are doing a bunch of custom engravings on several dozen sets right now. Nick will be sending your renderings via email if he has not already done so in the coming days so we can get these completed and shipped to you.

Uni-Strut Covers

We are sold out. We have a few sets on back order. We will run these in May, probably towards the end of the month.

Satin Machine Finish Catch Cans

We were waiting on our next batch of black fittings which arrived Monday. All orders through yesterday’s business that have not shipped are in to be packaged now, and will be out the door by Friday. The oldest order is from April 11th.

Colors In, Colors Out

Folks we have quite a bit that has gone out today for finishes. Batches of Matte Red, Orange/Matte Orange, Standard Red have gone out today for plating.

We received the batches of Polish and Plum Crazy back in, and the team is already sorting and inspecting them.

Color Batches On Deck

We will be sending Black and Matte Black on Friday to be coated. Looking good for batches of Blue, Matte Blue, Purple, Matte Purple, Titanium and Matte Titanium to also go out.

We have a batch of F8 Green that should go out west for paint on Friday as well.

Bottleneck: Factory Color Match

As we mentioned on the April 15th update the only real bottleneck is the factory color match paint. As long as you guys and gals are willing to wait for it we will continue to offer it.

Our friends at CCF are starting to be able to operate wide open again now that California has started to lift some of the restrictions on businesses from the covid pandemic. We stick with our partners, and we hope you will stick with us, as we stick with them.

We know the wait can be frustrating, and we encourage you to call us with your questions.

Unfortunately we are down to one painting source again we lost our local supplier. It was not for lack of trying by both parties. We need the paint to adhere to the material. The rejection rate  was too high, and we had to part ways. The paint looked great, the durability however what not up to our standards.

CCF delivers on both fronts for us, however having only one supplier will indeed slow down the process.

No Price Increases

We understand times are tough for everyone. It’s no different for us. We have had our daily allotment of 2.5” round stock cut in half. Our raw material costs since the first of the year have gone up nearly 40%. We also are having issues getting certain hardware, and some plastics that we use, especially on our Hellcat PCV Connectors for the oil separators.

We are holding our prices for now but a price increase in the future cannot be ruled out. Our supplier partners have had to increase pricing on anodize, power coating, and paint. Again, we are holding firm on the prices we have offered you for many many years. We realize our business is a people business in as much as it’s a parts business.

Update to Payment Terms

Folks now the part we don’t want to discuss but have to: Payment. As many of you know we charge a 30% deposit to begin work. This will not change.

What will change moving forward is when we charge the final balance on your orders.

Effective immediately, when orders are a few days out, preparing to head to final finishes we will be charging the balance in full.

What’s happening is we are charging the 30%, and when the item are ready to ship we are getting a lot of declined transactions. We are sending emails and making phone calls with no luck.

Communication has to work both ways. Just talk to us, we are here to help you. However, we have to ensure that the work we put in we get paid for. If we are unable to reach you prior to us sending your order out for finish/color we will hold it back until the next time we send a batch out for that finish.

Remember folks, we have been on the platform now for almost 20 years. We are here to help you, just talk to us.

If for any reason after we take final payment you need to cancel prior to us shipping a full refund will be given.

If the items come back from color and are rejected upon inspection, we will contact you immediately as we always have. Usually what we do is we will send you the parts and remake what ever needs fixed. This way you have something to put on your car until we fix it for you.

We always stand behind our work. Are we slow sometimes, yes. You will never read, or see anywhere, that Team BT has screwed a customer out of their hard earned dollars. We “get it” when it comes to your money; trust is delicate. You don’t have to chase us just call (561.582.6171) or email us.
