Manufacturing Update April 9, 2019

Good afternoon everyone. Thank you as always for the support and trust.

Back on Track: Colors Out, and Colors In

Today’s update is to let everyone know we have received the matte red back from March 20th, as well as the black from March 26th. As we reported in the last update, our supplier partners are starting to get some of these massive jobs out of their facilities (it’s not only our work). We will start to see things come back into the standard 7-14 day turnaround time for the color process.

Big Batch of Black Went Out!

Today we sent out a HUGE batch of black anodize, that is mostly catch cans. This batch is a wide date range of orders, some from as far back as January, and up to April 5th. We have just about every single black can now out for color, and those cans will ship this month.

First and always the team here wants to thank all of you guys and gals for holding the line with us. Please know, no one is sitting around doing nothing including our supplier partners. The perfect storm literally lined up after the first of the year. Thankfully most of you have been reading the updates and have been very patient. We want you to know how much that means to us and how much we appreciate it.

New Machine is a Lemon…

Nothing is worse to take delivery of a new piece of equipment that instead of solving a production problem, it makes it worse. The new machine was purchased specifically to increase production, consolidate the amount of machine time needed on parts needing both milling and turning (mostly catch cans), and really help get 2019 off to a fantastic start.  That wasn’t the case.  

Instead that machine became a six figure paper weight, and we had not run cans for approximately three weeks by the end of January, as that new machine was brought on line. Our other lathe was being repaired (spindle rebuild), which just compounded the large number of cans needed to fill orders from the huge Holiday sales and support from all of you.

This is the primary reason Team BT as a company does our very best to pay it back into the community whenever we can, because it is the goodwill such as times like these that is shown to our business time and again that makes it our responsibility to pay it forward.  Our sincerest thank you.

No Lemon-aid, Just Hard Work

Speaking of the new machine, the good news is that piece will be out of here within the week. We have a new lathe being delivered shortly thereafter, and should be making chips on it by the end of the month.

There will be no interruptions in production. We made the adjustments necessary and our staff has been rotating shifts to keep the production going on catch cans, and similar items. This way we have product on the shelf and can continue to fill orders.

We will not have delays like those that took place the end of December and into late the third week of January where we were sold out and not making catch cans or much of any turning on the BT side of things. Satin Cans Ship Quick

Remember if you need a satin catch can shipped immediately please put in the order comments if placing your order online and will have it out within 24-48 hours. Otherwise, will have your satin can shipped in 7-10 days. Colors are now coming back in to that 20 business day lead-time again as well as all colors are now.

Stock Statuses

Inventory wise we remain as we have been over the past several updates. No major changes, however when in doubt just reach out. We will do a full inventory update later this week. We are finishing up, and shipping many of the satin machine finish items as the engravings are completed, as well as those same machine finish items that we have been pulling from the shelf in blanks and getting them out to colors or polish.

Lead Time for Final Processes

Finally if you see your order has come back in from finish please do allow us 7-14 days to complete any final processes such as assembly or engraving prior to shipment. If you need your stuff sooner please reach out to us via our handy contact page, and will get you moved up and work towards meeting your schedule.
