Manufacturing Update February 15, 2021

Good evening everyone. Many thanks, as always, for your trust, and support in our team. We never take this for granted, and as we must start every update with a sincere, heartfelt thank you.

Factory Color Match Update

We have some very good news on the Factory Color Match front! If you follow along on our social media channels we reported on this Saturday afternoon, and again this morning. The starts and stops on these finishes are over!

The Meeting With Our Supplier Partner

One of the primary reasons we moved Friday’s update out until today, was so we could meet with the folks doing the color match process in person again, and map out a long term goal, and path forward now that the colors are starting to come back in to us.

After spending a few hours with our color match partner on Saturday, we are super excited. We are moving forward with a new plan to hit our goal, and the quality is stellar. Our partners are so vital to our business. Without these folks, we couldn’t bring you the best parts in the business.

We promise you that the factory color match finishes will exceed your expectations, and then some. Those who stayed the course here, you will be SO glad you did.

ETA for Current Orders

All outstanding color match items will be complete by the end of the month, or early March. The only exceptions are some coolant tank covers (mainly folks who ordered in December as we sold out during the People’s Sale).

We are starting our coolant tank manufacturing run to fill back orders and have inventory on the shelf very soon.  As mentioned in our last update, those will be on the machine a solid month.

We will not hold orders back. We will ship you partials, as the factory color match, and all our color offerings, become ready to ship.

Octane Red and B5 Blue Batches are Out for Finish

We will be completing all outstanding orders very quickly, now that we have everything in place. The B5 Blue, and Octane Red batches are now in the very capable hands of our vendor partner. Please check the tables below to find your order.

You Spoke, We Listened

We have taken a lot of phone calls, emails, and had numerous one on one interactions with you guys. The biggest thing you have asked for over the past several years, has been factory color matched finishes.

For many, the color choices they have in the market place have not met their expectations. Be it sub-par machining of the product itself, inconsistent finishes,  paint drip when dry, orange peel, or pitting, you all were not happy.  We have also seen this work up close, and understand the need for another option.

Factory Color Match Options Return

Later this month, or the first week of March, we will be opening up the color match options once again. We are now confident that we can offer the color match options without the starts and stops that plagued the process for much of last year.

When we do reopen the color match options, the goal will be to have a turn around time within 7-10 days, from when the parts leave our facility to their shop, and back.  This was communicated to us directly from our vendor partner.  

A great deal of investment is going in to this, including custom fixtures, and racks. We now have a process which is streamlined, less time consuming, and the finish is flawless. This is no Home Depot spray gun operation.

The redline red pearl is absolutely stunning and the balance of the F8 green also equal in finish. See this post on our Instagram page, for an example of these finishes. You’ll be blown away, just like we were.

Factory Color Batches on Deck

After the Octane Red and B5 Blue are completed, the following finishes will go out for color. All of these batches will be out of here, and into the coating process before the month ends.

Taste the Rainbow

As we start to get going, our plan is to open up the entire factory color match pallet. When we relaunch the factory color options these will be the colors available to order:

• Redline Red
• Octane Red
• Jazz Blue
• B5 Blue
• Destroyer Grey
• TorRed
• Sublime
• Smoke Show
• Frostbite

Batch Size

Friends, please be mindful, we cannot send one, or two pieces to be done at a time. We will need to have some quantity to do a batch to keep prices in line, and affordable.

As mentioned before, this is not some jerry rigged process with inconsistent finishes, poor quality, or in general, just plain garbage.

A great deal of time, and investment has been put into this process. We know we have to have it right this time because of the continual starts, and stops that we have had with the factory color match over the past year, year and a half. Much of those issues were Covid related in 2020, but not so much towards the end of 2019.

When we do start to offer the other color options, we will make an announcement that we are doing so, and offer a window to order. Very much in the spirt of a group buy.

Just a reminder

Quick reminder, if you see your order is back in on today’s update allow us 7-14 days to complete all assembly, and or final processes (such as engraving) prior to us shipping your order.

Batchs on Deck

We also have a big bundle of purple and matte purple getting ready to go out. As mentioned in last week’s update, we are replenishing a bunch of our under hood pieces right now. We want to get as many orders as possible completed, and get the product shipped.

Satin Catch Cans

Satin catch cans we are on the long end of the 3-7 business day lead time. The volume of orders has been insane. When you place your satin catch can order, we are moving your order to “pending to ship status” within 48 hours. Expect your order to ship within the time frame listed in the product availability, that is next to the unit price.

If you need us to ship your satin can the next business day after you place your order let us know in the order comments section when checking out online, and we will take care of that for you. If you are calling in, let the friendly BT staff member taking your order know, so we can get out the next day for you.

Delay in Color Batches Due to Volume

Folks, we are going to be a bit backed up in the coming weeks as we send stuff out for color, be it anodize, or powder coat. We still have a TON color catch cans to send to our amazing finishing partners. So, we want to let you know this in advance, especially on the matte finishes.

If you order standard red, black, or clear anodize we should remain pretty much right on standard lead-time (20 biz days), or just slightly ahead of that. Any questions please do call (561.582.6171) or email us.

Friends quick a reminder, if you paid via a credit card we do reauthorize your credit card after the orders are checked back in from our finishing partners here at the shop.
