Manufacturing Update July 17, 2020

Good afternoon family. Welcome to Friday, and the weekend. We hope everyone is staying safe, and healthy during these trying times.

Our team greatly appreciates all your support, and business during these times. We remain humbled, and thankful to be part of your ownership experiences.

Today’s update will be brief so let’s get started.

Matte Black is Back!

The matte black from the June 4th batch is back!! Family it’s well worth the wait as always, Rick nails these matte finishes, and you will not be disappointed.

We have started to sort the pieces, and moved the stand alone items such as water necks, hood props, or any pieces that do not require engravings, into shipping.

Catch cans needing assembly are in the assembly area, and stand alone cans will ship early next week.

If you ordered a can, and any under hood pieces, that require engravings please allow approximately 7-10 business days for us to ship your packages complete.

Color Batches Still Out for Finish

When BT Alex picked up the matte black the orange (that was sent out on June 26th) was just finishing up. So that batch will be ready for us early next week.

The titanium, and copper finishes are still out, and should be completing shortly.

The white, and yellow powder coating will be back next week too. As those batches come in, we will keep you updated, as always, here in our MFG Updates. You can call us for the latest, and greatest, info prior to the next update going live.

Colors Out & On Deck

We sent a batch of clear and matte clear anodize out for plating today.

Next round of finishes will be more matte black, and matte red which we have started to bundle up. Those batches will be sent out towards the middle to end of next week.

The replacement finish for liquid copper we will have those samples back by mid next week to show you guys, and gals, and take some feed back too.

Update on Machine Repairs

As we mentioned the July 8th Manufacturing Update we have two machines down. The remainder of the parts came in today, and repairs are under way. Both the mill, and lathe will be making chips again, baring any unforeseen issues, early next week. Rest assured, our team will work diligently to get caught up.

Valve Cover Update

Because we have been down for nearly two full working weeks, this has obviously pushed some manufacturing time tables back for us. This has affected product we had planned to machine that we were low, or out of stock on, and also completing the final operations on the BT Valve Covers.

We have shipped most satin covers that were on order, we got a couple sets of copper out the other day, and today we got a set of clear anodize out for one of our customers.

We will quickly finish up the front side ops on the remainder of the valve covers on that machine that is currently down, and start getting these back orders that have not gone out for colors to our vendor partners asap.

This is the last run of BT Valve Covers before we retire them to the vault again. We have just a few sets left that can be sold so if you are thinking about getting on board now would be the time.

Catch Can Manufacturing

We have three turning centers at our facility one is used strictly to manufacturing our catch can therefore, satin machine cans will continue to ship within 3-7 days from ordering. Need a satin can shipped next business day? Let us know in the order comments when checking out or let one of our friendly BT staff members know when your ordering by phone and we will get that handled for you.

Other Effected Parts

Our other two lathes are used for BT work, and non automotive business. With one of those being down we have unfortunately been in a holding pattern on the BT parts that need turning work.

Those include the water necks (Hellcat/Demon as well as 5.7, 6.1 and 392 Hemi’s), “Devo” Style Strut covers, and hood shock covers.

First things that will be done on the down lathe are designer cutting some of the A/C Knob kits, and hood props. If you have an order which came back from color that needed designer cut on a/c knobs, or hood shock covers, we will knock those out first. Expect us to ship those items next week if all repairs go smoothly.

Secondly, we will be putting catch can accessory pieces such as hose ends, and nose mounts next.

Finally, before the end of the month, probably the week of July 27th, the Devo Strut Covers will go on. This will get those parts manufactured, and restocked to get the growing number of back orders out.

After that will be the water necks, in early August, along with the hood shock covers during the first week of August time frame.
