Manufacturing Update November 19, 2019
Good afternoon everyone welcome to the week before Thanksgiving, and welcome to another MFG Update. We appreciate each, and every one of you checking in to see what’s shaking here at the BT facility. Welcome newbies who may be here for the first time post Peoples Sale.
BT veterans welcome back you know these updates are the place to check in for the latest information regarding inventory status, manufacturing runs, sales, batches going out, or coming in from color, and other BT related items. Jazz Blue is Back| Factory Matched Color Update
We finally have the Jazz Blue Back! Folks, we want to thank you all for your patience on these factory matched colors. One of the primary reasons we are not offering more factory finish options is because our supplier partner is a one man operation, and overwhelmed with the volume of parts and orders.
BT is doing what we can to work with them, and help them increase production, so that everyone is happy and most importantly, you the customer is happy. The quality is flawless it’s the lead-times that are taking a painfully long time (more so than usual).
We understand that these extended lead times may not be “ok” with some of you guys, and gals, who have been waiting for jazz blue, destroyer grey, octane red, redline red or F8 Green. If you want to make a change to a different color or finish please call (561.582.6171) or email us.
Lead Time for Factory Color Matched Finishes
When we send stuff for factory match colors please expect to wait as long as 6 weeks. We simply cannot give you a time estimate now and we have been holding off on sending any orders up until we are given an ok to do so (meaning the workload has lessoned).
Once these limited finishes started to hit in the summer, and people saw them the orders exploded. Please know we are working hard, as is our vendor partner, to help resolve this so we meet the demand for the current color offerings, as well as introduce more factory color match finishes.
Colors Out, Colors In
As mentioned above, the Jazz Blue, Lime Green Metallic, and Standard Black order batches are back. Batches of F8 Green and Racing Red Metallic have gone out for color.
Lead Time for Final Processes
If you see your order has come back today please allow us until the first week of December to finish any engravings that need completed, and any assemblies on cans. Deadline for Holiday Delivery Requests
If you need an order in time for a holiday delivery please reach out to us no later than December 2nd, and we will do everything within our power to make that happen. Any requests made after December 2nd, we simply cannot guarantee, but again, we will make every effort to make sure we get you something so your your friends, or loved ones, will have a BT gift to unwrap.
People’s Sale: Holiday Delivery and Custom Artwork
Family if you ordered during The Peoples Sale and asked for a holiday delivery you can check in on the After the Sale article we we updated on Friday, November 15th.
We also included anyone who at the time of that posting asked for a custom them or engraving. Team BT will be updating both those lists as we move further in towards the holiday season as more folks nail down their themes, and are ready to submit to us for a final quote on the custom up-charge.
Please note that we will continue to update the After the Sale article’s Holiday Delivery and Custom Artwork tables. We are keeping them in that same location for your convenience and ease of access.
Coolant Tank Covers and Holiday Delivery
All folks who requested a holiday delivery with the exception of factory color matched parts we should be good to go. The only product that will be on the bubble for holiday delivery will be the coolant tank covers. They are currently in manufacturing, and will be until probably the second week in December. As mentioned, we are running the coolant tank covers, and have setup to run them, in anticipation of the high volume of orders we would receive during the sale (they were bountiful).
Stock Statuses
Inventory wise we planned very well for the holiday season and we do believe many of you will be surprised on the turnaround results this year. We do not have the issues we had last year: a spindle rebuild on one of our turning centers, then having a brand new turning center fail, and eventually returned.
We have plenty of stock on catch cans, and will be sending those and all parts to finishes in many batches over the next coming weeks.
Satin Catch Cans
Satin catch can orders, that have been placed on their own without any additional items, are shipping in order of receipt. Our goal is to have them on the way to your door within one week of placing your order. Most satin cans prior to the sale have been shipping within 3 days of ordering.
The problem is not stock on the shelves, it’s HOW MANY units we sold in the past week, both during the sale, and after. All in all we have sold just shy of 1100 units in satin alone. If you need your satin can immediately, or seven days have passed and you haven’t received a shipping notice, call (561.582.6171) or email us and we will get it handled for you.
Post-Sale Inventory Sheet
By the end of the week, or no later than Monday, we will be posting a post-sale inventory sheet. This table will include: what’s been ordered, how many units (if any) may be on backorder, along with an ETA to manufacture the next run. We have done this in years past, after the big holiday sale, and received positive feedback from you all, so we’ll continue to provide this information.
The Holiday Fun Isn’t Over Yet
Once more we think you guys and gals will be very surprised this year. Of course there will be some random odd balls and hiccups, but we came into the holiday season more than ready. We will be having some other fun events leading up to Christmas week, and into the New Year.
Team BT fully realizes, and understands, we would not be doing what we do, without the support of you, the people. This is the time of year we truly enjoy giving back to our customers, and has become a BT tradition. Thank you all.
Thanksgiving Schedules
A couple of Thanksgiving scheduling notes before we wrap today’s update.
First next week is a short week:
- Our plater(anodize), powder coater and polisher will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday break starting Wednesday and returning Monday, December 2nd.
- Team BT will be breaking on Tuesday, November 26th at noon and returning on Monday, December 2nd.
- The office will be closed however, chips will be flying in the shop on Friday and Saturday next week.
- We will post a holiday notice on the 25th as a refresher for everyone.

We will be working on those items the rest of the week so we can get the catch cans assembled, any parts needing engravings done, and on the way. As already mentioned some of those are oldies in there (some old hood prop covers from June), so we are on these to get them to you.
