Manufacturing Update January 4, 2019

Good afternoon family and welcome to the very first MFG Update of 2019.

December was a big push to get the holiday orders out, and under the tree. To those of you who have been patiently waiting we sincerely thank you. We know who those customers are, and we want to personally thank you. You are the bulk of the business that we will be filling here in the coming weeks and that makes you guys and gals the real heroes of the holidays.

With the holidays behind us, and the new year in front of us, Team BT shifts our focus from the rush of Holiday Deliveries and now into high gear completing the parts for other orders. Our supplier partners are back to work as well and we were there, dropping off parts for finishes as they opened their doors.

Inventory Status

As was noted in all of our updates, from late November and all through December, we will be doing quick “just in time” MFG Runs. These runs allow us to replenish our inventory and keep products moving to colors to satisfy those customers who needed to have their orders filled. In the December 10, 2018 Update we provided an inventory status table.

Below please find the table with inventory status and ETA to run as of January 3rd. If you compare it to the update from December 10th you will see Team BT got a lot of work done in December. The chips will continue to fly as you all still are placing orders here with us like crazy.

Simply put you are the fuel that feeds our passion to bring you these products and nothing is more humbling than to see our line of products on your beautiful sleds. Catch can inventory status is for individual orders not blanket or distributor orders we work with our partners who sell our can direct or as a private label offering one on one. More on that to follow here as you read along.

Catch Can Production

Heavy Maintenance Update

Folks as you know, from our December 18th update, we completed our heavy maintenance on December 26th and 27th. A limited crew of the hard working BT family were here on New Years Day buttoning up everything so we could hit the ground running hard on January 2nd.

In that December 18th update we let you know that catch can production would be paused until the middle of January. As you can see from our Inventory Table posted above we have a lot of orders to fill.

The spindle was yanked out of the Okuma over the holidays for a rebuild and will be back here at the shop to be reinstalled in the next couple of weeks.  As we indicated we are down to one operational lathe presently, which is running non-automotive work until sometime in April.

New Lathe Arrives Next Week

We have a brand new live tooling lathe that will be delivered next week. After setup and some training we will be producing cans again late the week of January 14th.

Colors will begin to go to plate and powder coating sometime the week of January 21st. We have been in close contact with our amazing supplier partners (for anodize, powder coating, hose and fittings) to expect a major push from us. They will work, as they always do, by providing the best finishes, and the best service to us that we can then offer to you.

Colors on cans will resume shipping this month and as we get into the month will start updating those order tables and of course will pop in with additional information as we have it. If you placed an order for a can with multiple items we are shipping and completing those items and will ship your can later. There is absolutely no additional charge to you when we ship a partial shipment out.

Circling back to the the improvements on current machinery and new machinery, while stalling our production for short term pain, this will increase our volume exponentially, allowing us to ship your satin cans sooner (within 5 days) and have more colors flowing out for finishes. Team BT will be introducing new color choices as well later this quarter.

As we presently stood here our max capacity was just north of 1,000 units per month. We will double that and more once we get the new machine up and running, then bring the Okuma back up on line on the shop floor to run overflow on nights.

In the meantime we are doing all secondary ops for the catch cans now such as brackets and quick connects so when production resumes here shortly we have everything in place to start assembling again.

Lime Green Metallic is back and will start getting those parts engraved and catch cans assembled. Team BT will get those parts in your hands shortly. Please remember if you order has come back in allow us 7-14 days to complete any final processes before shipping.

PayPal

Please remember, if you paid with Paypal that payment is instant, friends. If you aren’t comfortable with us holding those funds while we work to finish up your order, please reach out. We will refund the cash and rebill you when the time comes to ship.

All disputes prior to shipping the order will be canceled and moved to the next person in line. We do our best to make information accessible to you and are easy to work with and talk. Help us help you.

Friends that’s going to wrap it for and will be back next week with a new update for you. We sent orange and matte orange on January 3rd as some we had not yet gone out for any orange since before Thanksgiving. More colors going next week.
