Manufacturing Update March 25, 2019

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the post Spring Fest 14 MFG Update. John and Nick from Team BT had a blast out in SoCal this past weekend, and we want to thank our friends for the gracious hospitality on the west coast.

As always, our team appreciates all of your support, but most importantly, your trust. Without further delay let’s dive in as we have a lot to cover.

Team BT is Working Overtime for You

Please know your BT Team is working 18 hours a day M-F and putting in 10-15 hours on Saturday and Sunday to keep pace. Our supplier partners are slammed with our work and are working diligently, without compromising quality, to continue to bring you the best machined products in the aftermarket today.

Purple Has RETURNED!

PURPLE IS BACK!! Friends it was as painful for us as it was for you, but the 8 week wait is over. The purple (both matte and standard) is back. We are sorting through it getting, the pieces that need engraving into the shop, and cans into assembly. This is our highest priority and will be getting everyone shipped out as quickly as possible without compromising quality.

Clear Anodize & Standard Red are Back

We also have the clear anodize from March 12th, and the standard red anodize from March 8th back today. You will see those orders reflected in the tables at the bottom of this article.

Lime Green & Racing Red Metallic

We have received partial shipments of both the lime green metallic, and racing red metallic batches. Our powder coater had some equipment issues last week, but is back up and running.

The remainder of the parts from those two batches, as well as the racing red metallic from March 12th, are scheduled to come in from powder coating at the end of the week. We will post the full order tables for those finishes when they return.

Finishes Still Out

The following finishes are still out at outside process as of today:

• Orange and Matte Orange from February 14th (should be done in the next week)
• Blue and Matte Blue from March 8th
• Titanium and Matte Titanium from March 20th
• Matte Red from March 20th.
• Jazz Blue Metallic from March 19th
• F8 Green from March 7th
• Destroy Grey from March 7th
• Redline Red Pearl from March 7th

We have a bunch of product being bundled up to head to finishes again this week so please keep checking in often with the updates or just give us a call for the latest and greatest.

The New Machine is a Lemon

As many of you are aware we bought a new machine in the fall of last year and took delivery on that piece of equipment the second week of January. If you have followed along you know we had our Okuma down also to rebuild the spindle. Thus we could not resume catch can production until the 3rd week of January.

The new Haas machine allowed us to do both milling and turning tasks that resulted in us being able to bring the product off the machine quicker. This increased our max production capacity from just north of 1,000 units per month to nearly double that.

For the first couple weeks the new machine ran perfectly. In mid February we started having issues with the it holding tolerance. The situation got progressively worse and techs from Haas have been on site here at our facility on a weekly basis since the week of February 11th.

The spindle cannot be indicated and “walks”. Parts on the machine have been replaced, tested, multiple times. For all intents and purposes the machine is a lemon. Haas has confirmed this to us in writing and we are in the process of having the equipment removed and a new machine put in place.

How Does This Affect Catch Can Production?

What does this mean for our catch can production? It means we are still running them continually but our output is back to what it was prior to installing the new machine (approximately 1100 units per month).

Couple the machine issues, with our supplier partners being slammed on colors. We are experiencing delays many of you will find unacceptable. Please expect a 4-6 week time frame on any color cans with the exception of black and clear anodize.

Satin Catch Cans

Satin catch cans are shipping daily, and we have posted tables with satin catch can shipping ETAs below this article. If you need your product shipped immediately please reach out to us in the order comments letting us know or when placing your order over the phone and will get that handled for you.

Black and Clear Anodize Cans

We can have all black and clear back in 10-15 days after it goes out for plate. We are using our anodize partner who does our military anodize work for us on those finishes.

Other Color Cans

Red, blue, orange, purple copper and matte finishes will take a bit longer because of the current workload another finishing partner has at his facility. We respect and value our supplier partners and they are doing fantastic work for us. You will not be disappointed.

All color cans (all finishes) on order through March 22nd will be going to plate and powder coating in the next two weeks. Some cans are back from January folks and again we apologize and some are as recent as just a few days ago.

We currently have just north of 1300 cans in house right now 900 have to go to color or polish, 135 are satin and we are in assembly on all the satin cans with brackets coming off the machines for all styles as well. Keep an eye on the MFG Updates over the coming days to see your orders start to go to their respective finishes.

Team BT takes great pride in speaking to you with honest information so you can make an informed decision. We of course will work with you guys and gals to pull these dates in quicker with our supplier partners on the colors without quality compromise.

Low Stock, or Out of Stock Items

The follow products we have very low or limited stock on:

• Low Pressure A/C Port Cap Cover (classic style BT):
  We do have some stock. Next run first week of April
• Power Steering Reservoir Cover:
  Power Steering Reservoir Covers for 05-10 models we have no stock. Material will be here next week and will go on the machine last next week
• EGR Deletes:
  We sold the last kit today. Material will be ordered next week and going on the machine again the second week of April.
• Ram Durango and Jeep Fuse Box Covers:
  Material for these covers will be here at the end of the week and going on the machine late next week for the next round of production.
• Coolant Tank Covers:
  We have a few left from this last production run (this cover moves like hot cakes thank you everyone and when people see them you know why). We will put another round in the machine in mid April.
• Coil Pack Covers:
  We are completing now with finishes heading out early next week satins will start to ship mid to late next week.
• Valve Cover:
  Material is ordered and the next run will be in mid to late April. If you want a set order now. We have 22 sets on order and we have placed an order for material to run 28 sets. These will not last long.

We are in good shape on everything else product wise. If you have an upcoming event or show you are attending please do let us know so we can work to accommodate you and your schedule as best as we can.

Lead Time For Final Processes

If you see your order has come back in please allow 7-14 days to complete any final engravings or assembly of product prior to shipping. We are completing these final processes as quickly as possible to get them to you.
